Join the Angola Field Group for a Historic/Architectural Tour of downtown Luanda on Sunday, October 11 starting at 7:30 AM with Architect Lisa Leal who has worked off and on in Angola for ten years. Here’s your chance to learn more about some of the significant buildings in Luanda and photograph them. Did you know there’s a train station in Maianga? Luanda’s courthouse is built on what used to be the property of a notorious female slavetrader. And the Iron Palace, was it really designed by Eiffel??? We will take a look at these buildings and more, such as the school President Dos Santos attended. The tour will last about 3 hours and finish on the Ilha.
