From November 17 to November 20, you have an opportunity to visit Parque Candangala in Malange province, the home of the rare Giant Sable. There you will observe the conservation program in progress with Pedro Vaz Pinto, Coordinator of the Palanca Negra Conservation program and Environmental Adviser for the Catholic University Centre for Scientific Studies & Research. Two South African experts will also be present, and the team will try to implement pioneer conservation activities on the ground for a week.
A strong four wheel drive vehicle is required since all driving in the park is equivalent to off-road conditions. Expect scratches on your vehicle. This is the rainy season so experience driving in muddy and wet conditions is a must. No camping gear is necessary since we will be staying in the park headquarters. Further details will be provided to participants.
A limited number of guests allowed. To sign up, email Henriette Koning at angolafieldgroup@gmail.com as soon as possible due to space limitations.
